Me

I quit my “real job” shortly after finding out I was pregnant with Kira, my oldest daughter.  That’s where the REAL journey began.

With a handful of clients, a dream, and a newborn, I began designing rooms, homes, offices…really anything anyone would let me!

Nine years and three kids later, I couldn’t be happier.  I’ve helped dozens of families fall in love with their “new” homes.  There’s nothing better than an install day and seeing the client’s face when it all comes together.

My formal training includes Bachelor of Arts from Hope College, with an English Degree.  I attribute my love of “the story” to this part of my education.  J  I also worked at Moynihan Gallery in Holland, Michigan for several years as an Art Consultant, In-Home Designer, and a Custom Framing Designer.  Workshops in New York, Atlanta, and Chicago have all helped to further my knowledge and love for design.

Most of my education in design is self-taught and I’d attribute to awareness.  I study magazines, websites, nature, art, furniture, architecture… I believe inspiration can come from anywhere.  I once designed a family room based on the muck fields I drove by each day on my way to work…deep rich brown soil, bright green sprouts, perfect little rows…
